Vice President Sarah James is from Gwich’in Nation, Treasurer/ Secretary Pamela Smith is Eyak Athabaskan Native. NDN Collectives mission it to build Indigenous power through defense, development and decolonization, and take control of our destinies. Jade joins Native Conservancy’s entirely Native board: Our Founder and President, Dune Lankard, is an Eyak Athabaskan Native of the Eagle Clan, who grew up in one of the villages impacted by commercial fisheries and the Exxon Valdez oil spill. Jade has partnered with organizations like Resource Media, United Nations Universal Access Project, 350.org, Indigenous Environmental Network, Bioneers, Indigenous Climate Action, the Women’s Earth and Climate Action Network, Allied Media Projects, and Tribal Nations from the Arctic to the Amazon to create multimedia and build storytelling campaigns to mobilize, create more engagement and impact around issues like climate justice, Indigenous self-determination and environmental justice. She is a filmmaker, communications and narrative strategist, and an Indigenous rights and climate activist. The NDN Collective Climate Justice Campaign builds. Jade, who is Diné and Tesuque Pueblo of New Mexico, brings deep experience in the climate justice movement throughout Turtle Island and with Indigenous communities around the world. NDN Collective is an Indigenous-led organization dedicated to building the collective power of Indigenous Peoples, communities, and Nations to exercise their right to self-determination, while fostering a world that is built on a foundation of justice and equity for all people and the planet.
